This Way Up 2021 full programme announced

Ahead of This Way Up 2021 next week, the annual conference for people working in UK film exhibition, the full programme has been unveiled.

This year’s conference digs deep into big questions of big questions of regional audiences and cultural delivery, environmental sustainability, skills development and access. Focusing on key themes of cultural value, placemaking and inclusion, This Way Up will ask how we can utilise government policies to achieve our aims as cultural organisations, how we can create fairer workplaces, and much, much more…

This Way Up is the annual conference for people working in UK film exhibition; a space to gather, connect, learn and be inspired. This year, TWU21 will be a hybrid event, taking place at Watershed in Bristol, and accessible online from anywhere in the UK.

Delivered by BFI FAN, This Way Up brings the sector together to share new ideas, celebrate our work, and collectively imagine the future of cinema-going for audiences across the UK.

The BFI Film Audience Network (BFI FAN) aims to ensure the greatest choice of film is available for everyone across the whole of the UK. Supported by National Lottery funding, it is a unique collaboration of eight Film Hubs, managed by leading film organisations and venues strategically placed around the country. Established in 2012, it now has over 1,200 members, including cinemas, festivals, multi-arts venues, community cinemas and film archives, and is at the heart of the BFI’s strategy to build larger and more diverse audiences for UK and international film and a thriving cinema exhibition sector.  Get involved!
